You’re not looking for the cheapest option. You’re looking for the one that actually works when the next nor’easter rolls through.
A proper roof repair means no more buckets in the attic. No more stains spreading across your ceiling. No more wondering if that drip is going to turn into a flood the next time it rains hard.
Massachusetts weather doesn’t mess around. Between ice dams in February and wind-driven rain in October, your roof takes a beating. The repair work needs to account for that—not just cover the hole and hope for the best.
When the job’s done right, you stop thinking about your roof. That’s the point.
Paradise Remodeling Inc is locally owned and based right here in the area. We’re an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, which means we’ve met their requirements for quality work and customer service—not just once, but consistently.
Cochituate homes weren’t built yesterday. Most of the housing stock here dates back to the 1950s and 60s, with plenty going back even further. That means older roof structures, different materials, and problems you won’t see in newer construction.
We’ve worked on enough roofs in this area to know what fails first, what lasts, and what actually holds up when winter hits. You’re not getting a crew learning on your dime.
First, we come out and actually look at your roof. Not a quick glance from the driveway—we get up there and inspect the damage, the surrounding area, and anything else that might cause problems down the road.
Then we tell you what’s wrong and what it’ll take to fix it. If it’s a simple repair, we say that. If the damage is more extensive or if we find underlying issues that need attention, we walk you through it. No upselling, no scare tactics.
Once you approve the work, we schedule it and show up when we say we will. The repair gets done with materials that match your existing roof and meet manufacturer specs. We clean up when we’re finished, and we make sure the repair is watertight before we leave.
If you’re dealing with insurance, we can document everything and provide the paperwork your adjuster needs. Storm damage claims in Massachusetts spike after every nor’easter, and we’ve handled enough of them to know what insurers require.

Every roof repair starts with finding the actual source of the problem. Water doesn’t always leak where it enters—it can travel along rafters or sheathing before it drips into your living space. We trace it back to where it’s getting in.
The repair itself depends on what’s damaged. Shingle replacements, flashing repairs, valley work, chimney sealing—whatever it takes to stop the leak. We use quality materials like Mule Hide products that hold up in New England weather.
Ice dam damage is common here in Cochituate. When heat escapes through your attic, it melts snow on the roof. That water runs down and refreezes at the eaves, creating a dam that forces water under your shingles. We repair the damage and can advise on prevention so it doesn’t happen again next winter.
Emergency repairs are available when you need them. If a storm tears up your roof or a tree comes down, you can’t wait three weeks for someone to show up. We respond fast and get your home protected.
Most roof leak repairs in Massachusetts run between $400 and $900, depending on what’s damaged and how much work it takes to fix it properly. A small isolated leak costs less. Multiple problem areas or extensive damage costs more.
Labor makes up about 50-60% of roofing costs in Massachusetts, where roofers earn some of the highest wages in the country at around $35 per hour. That’s not padding—it reflects the skill level and licensing requirements for working on roofs in this state.
If you’re looking at a full replacement instead of a repair, expect around $30,000 for a mid-range asphalt roof. That number has climbed nearly 15% since 2022 due to material costs and inflation. But a proper repair now can buy you years before you need to think about replacement.
It depends on your policy and your deductible. Most Massachusetts homeowner policies cover sudden damage from storms, wind, hail, or falling trees. They typically don’t cover wear and tear or damage from lack of maintenance.
Your deductible matters. If the repair costs $800 and your deductible is $1,000, insurance won’t kick in. But if a nor’easter causes $5,000 in damage and your deductible is $1,000, you’d pay the first thousand and insurance covers the rest.
We can document the damage and provide the photos and paperwork your insurance company needs. Massachusetts sees a spike in roof claims every time a major storm comes through, and adjusters know what they’re looking for. Having proper documentation from a licensed contractor helps your claim go smoothly.
If the damage is localized to one area and the rest of your roof is in decent shape, repair makes sense. If you’re seeing problems in multiple spots, or if your roof is already 20+ years old, replacement might be the smarter move.
Age matters. Asphalt shingles typically last 20-25 years in Massachusetts. If your roof is approaching that range and you’re starting to see leaks, you’re likely looking at more repairs in the near future. Sometimes it makes more financial sense to replace it now rather than throw money at an aging roof.
We’ll tell you honestly which route makes sense for your situation. There’s no point in doing a $2,000 repair on a roof that needs replacing in two years. But there’s also no reason to replace a roof that has 10 good years left just because one section got damaged.
Ice dams form when heat escapes through your attic and melts snow on your roof. That melted snow runs down to the colder eaves and refreezes, creating a dam. Water backs up behind it and gets forced under your shingles, causing leaks inside your home.
This is a major problem in Massachusetts winters, especially in older homes like most of Cochituate’s housing stock. Poor attic insulation and ventilation are usually the culprits. The ice dam itself is just the symptom.
We repair the water damage to your roof deck, replace damaged shingles, and fix any interior damage the leak caused. Then we can evaluate your attic situation and recommend ventilation or insulation improvements to prevent it from happening again. Just fixing the leak without addressing why the ice dam formed means you’ll be dealing with the same problem next winter.
Most repairs take anywhere from a few hours to a full day, depending on the extent of the damage and what needs to be fixed. A simple shingle replacement might take half a day. Extensive flashing work or multiple problem areas could take longer.
Weather plays a role. We can’t do roof work in heavy rain or when ice is present. If we’re in the middle of a repair and conditions turn bad, we’ll make sure your roof is protected and come back when it’s safe to finish the job properly.
Emergency repairs happen faster. If your roof is actively leaking or you have storm damage that’s exposing your home to the elements, we prioritize getting you covered and watertight. The full repair might happen in stages, but we’ll make sure you’re protected right away.
The best time is late spring through early fall—May through September—when temperatures stay consistently above freezing and you’re less likely to deal with storms. Roofing materials need certain temperatures to seal properly, and working conditions are safer when it’s not icy or pouring rain.
That said, roof damage doesn’t wait for good weather. If you have a leak in January, you can’t just let it drip until May. We handle emergency repairs year-round because sometimes you don’t have a choice.
If you’re planning a non-emergency repair and have flexibility on timing, spring and summer make sense. You’ll have better weather, more scheduling options, and materials will perform better during installation. But if your roof is leaking now, the best time to fix it is now—regardless of the season.
