You stop worrying every time a storm rolls through. No more checking the ceiling for water stains or wondering if this winter’s ice buildup will finally cause real damage.
A solid roof means your attic stays dry, your energy bills don’t spike because heat’s escaping through gaps, and you’re not scrambling to file insurance claims after every nor’easter. It means you can sell your home without buyers flagging roof issues during inspection.
When your roof is installed right for Manchester’s climate—proper ventilation, ice barriers where they belong, shingles rated for wind and impact—it does its job quietly. You forget about it. That’s the point.
We’re an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, which means we’ve met their requirements for quality work and customer service. Our BuildZoom score puts us in the top 8% of licensed contractors in Massachusetts, and we bring that same standard to every job in Manchester.
We’re not new to this climate. We know ice dams aren’t just an inconvenience—they’re structural threats that can ruin insulation and ceilings if ignored. We know your roof needs to handle 60+ inches of snow and 40+ freeze-thaw cycles every year.
When you call us, you’re working with a team that understands local building codes, knows what insurance adjusters look for after storm damage, and won’t disappear after the deposit clears.
We start with an inspection. We’re looking at shingle condition, flashing around chimneys and vents, signs of water intrusion, and whether your attic ventilation is set up correctly. If you’re dealing with storm damage, we document everything for your insurance claim.
Once we’ve assessed the situation, we walk you through what needs to happen. If it’s a full replacement, that means tearing off old shingles, inspecting and repairing the deck if needed, installing ice and water barriers at eaves and valleys, laying down new shingles, and making sure ventilation is dialed in. If it’s a repair, we fix the problem and check surrounding areas to catch issues before they get worse.
Most jobs wrap up in a few days, depending on size and weather. We handle permits, coordinate material delivery, and clean up when we’re done. You get a roof that’s built to last, not just patched together.
Ready to get started?
Every roofing project starts with a thorough inspection. We check for wind damage, missing or lifted shingles, worn flashing, and signs of leaks. In Manchester, we’re also looking at ice dam risk—whether your attic insulation and ventilation are set up to prevent melting snow from refreezing at the edges.
For replacements, you’re getting Owens Corning shingles designed for impact and wind resistance, proper underlayment, ice barriers installed to code, and ventilation that keeps your attic temperature stable. We also replace any damaged decking and make sure flashing is sealed correctly around roof penetrations.
If you’re filing an insurance claim for storm damage, we meet with adjusters, provide documentation, and follow up until the claim gets approved. We’ve seen too many homeowners get underpaid or denied because they didn’t know what adjusters look for. We handle that part so you don’t have to fight for coverage you’re entitled to.
Most homeowners policies cover sudden damage from storms—wind-lifted shingles, hail impacts, tree damage. They don’t cover wear and tear or damage from poor maintenance, like rot from clogged gutters.
The tricky part is proving the damage happened during a covered event. That’s where documentation matters. We take photos, note wind speeds from the day of the storm, and point out impact marks or torn shingles that show sudden force, not gradual aging.
Insurance adjusters sometimes lowball claims or deny them outright if the documentation isn’t clear. We’ve worked with enough adjusters to know what they’re looking for, and we make sure your claim includes everything it should. If your roof took a hit during a nor’easter or severe thunderstorm, there’s a good chance it’s covered—you just need to present it right.
Ice dams form when heat escapes through your attic, melts snow on the roof, and that water refreezes at the eaves where it’s colder. The ice builds up, traps more water behind it, and eventually that water seeps under your shingles and into your home.
Prevention comes down to three things: insulation, ventilation, and roof design. Your attic needs enough insulation to keep heat from escaping, and it needs ventilation to keep the roof deck cold in winter. If warm air is hitting the underside of your roof, you’re going to get melting and refreezing.
During a roof replacement, we install ice and water barriers at the eaves and valleys—that’s required by code in New Hampshire, but not every contractor does it right. We also check your attic setup and let you know if ventilation or insulation needs work. You can’t fix ice dams with just a new roof if the attic conditions are wrong.
Most residential roof replacements take two to four days, depending on the size of your home, the complexity of the roof, and weather. A straightforward ranch with a simple roofline might be done in two days. A larger home with multiple valleys, dormers, or steep pitches takes longer.
Weather is the wildcard. We don’t install shingles in rain or when temperatures drop too low—adhesive strips won’t seal properly in cold conditions, and wet decking causes problems down the line. If a storm rolls through mid-project, we tarp everything and pick back up when it’s clear.
We coordinate the timeline before we start so you know what to expect. Materials get delivered the day before or the morning of, and we work straight through until it’s done. You’ll have some noise during tear-off and nailing, but we’re not dragging the job out for weeks.
If the damage is localized—a few missing shingles after a storm, flashing that’s come loose, a small leak around a vent—repair makes sense. You’re fixing the problem without tearing off a roof that’s otherwise in decent shape.
But if your roof is over 20 years old, showing widespread wear, or has multiple leaks, replacement is usually the smarter move. Patching an aging roof buys you time, but you’re likely looking at more repairs soon, and you’re not getting the energy efficiency or storm protection that a new roof provides.
We’ll tell you honestly which route makes sense. If a repair gets you another five years and you’re planning to sell, that might be the right call. If your roof is near the end of its lifespan and you’re staying in the home, replacement saves you from constant maintenance and gives you a warranty that actually means something.
Start with licensing and insurance. In New Hampshire, contractors need a home improvement license for jobs over $500, and they should carry liability and workers’ comp insurance. If someone gets hurt on your property and the contractor isn’t insured, you’re on the hook.
Ask about their experience with New England weather. Ice dams, wind-driven rain, freeze-thaw cycles—these aren’t problems contractors from warmer climates deal with. You want someone who knows how to install ice barriers correctly, understands local building codes, and won’t cut corners on ventilation.
Check references and look at their track record. A BuildZoom score or similar rating gives you a sense of how they compare to other contractors. Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status means they’ve met quality and service standards. And pay attention to how they communicate—if they’re vague about timelines, costs, or what’s included, that’s a red flag.
You don’t need to be home the whole time, but it helps to be around at the start and end of each day. We’ll need access to your property, and there’s usually a walkthrough at the beginning to go over any last-minute details or concerns.
The work itself is loud—tear-off and nailing are unavoidable—but we’re working on the exterior, so you’re not dealing with contractors walking through your house. If you’ve got pets or young kids, you might want to plan for them to be somewhere quieter during the day.
At the end of the project, we do a final walkthrough with you to make sure everything’s done right and answer any questions. We also clean up debris, haul away old shingles, and check the property for any nails or materials that didn’t make it into the dumpster. You shouldn’t have to do anything except approve the finished work.
